Project Type:
Decontamination through excavation and groundwater treatment via Pump & Treat system including decantation, phase separation, and activated carbon water filtration.
Conceptual Framework:
- Historical industrial site contaminated by gas production activity using coal and naphtha. Main contaminants: PAHs, TPHs, and BTEX; to a lesser extent, heavy metals.
Decontamination through selective excavation:
- Preliminary soil characterization
- Determination of soil management routes
- Selective excavation
- Temporary stockpiling of soils
- Disposal in Class II and III landfills and stabilization processes
- Verification of remaining soils
- Backfilling with reused materials from the site
Objective: From Brownfield to Greenfield. Remediation targets defined by ACR and SSTL.
